| THE PROCESS EXPLAINATION |
|
Ultraviolet (UV) disinfection uses a UV light source, which is enclosed in a transparent protective sleeve. It is mounted so that water can pass through a flow chamber, and UV rays are admitted and absorbed into the stream. When ultraviolet energy is absorbed by the reproductive mechanisms of bacteria and viruses, the genetic material (DNA/RNA) is rearranged and they can no longer reproduce. They are therefore considered dead and the risk of disease has been eliminated.
UV-rays are energy-rich electromagnetic rays that are found in the natural spectrum of the sunlight. They are in the range of the invisible short wave light having a wavelength ranging from 100 to 400 nm (1 nanometre = 10-9m). |

RAW WATER STRAINER
The feed water is filtered through a corrosion resistant mesh strainer to eliminate large objects, particles or suspended solids. |

PRIMARY PRE-FILTRATION

SECONDARY PRE-FILTRATION
This stage includes a heavy duty sediment particle filter comprised of pleated polypropylene. The particle filter removes solids that are greater than 5 microns in size. |

REVERSE OSMOSIS MEMBRANE
The reverse osmosis membrane removes 98%-99% of dissolved solids including radium, nitrates, sodium, and heavy metals. The commercial grade reverse osmosis membrane produces very high quality drinking water. |
| STAGE 5 |
OPTIONAL CARBON BLOCK POST-FILTRATION
Prior to dispensing, a final 10 carbon block post-filter cartridge polishes the product water removing any remaining odors, taste and color. |
